Cactus Cat Plushie - Your fluffy, prickly magical friend

From all of us down here at the cactus cat arboretum to all of you parabotanical lovers around the world:

About 25% of backers have received their kitties, using the advance shipment we received. These were all "succulent kitties" without added prickles. The remainder of the cats will ship in late January, after the main shipment from China arrives. 

If you're looking for your adoption certificate, we opted to make that a digital download so that you can customize it and also to keep it from becoming damaged or wrinkled in shipment. If you log-in to your account in BackerKit (https://cactus-cat-plushie.backerkit.com/) you can go to the Digital Downloads section and choose from several formats (e.g. with or without background). All backers should be able to download this file, as many times as you need.

The Cactus Cat illustration with lore and the Catsap Cocktail booklet are currently being designed, and we will have those uploaded to the BackerKit download site by the time the main shipments go out in late-January.

In the meantime, here is one recipe for your New Year's Celebration! Enjoy, and may the new year bring you lots of magical times with friends and family. Be good to one another! Miaaawwww!

Juan Catkins (alcoholic version)

1 1/2 ounces fermented catsap (tequila, drop of green food coloring, 1/16 tsp edible pearl dust)
1 ounce lemon juice
1/2 ounce agave nectar
2 oz. club soda (or enough to top the glass)
(optional: salt the rim of the glass with a mixture of salt and sugar)

Shake in a martini shaker and pour, or serve over ice. Garnish with a piece of curly lemon peel.

Juan Catkins (alcoholic version, short cut)

1 1/2 ounces fermented catsap (tequila, drop of green food coloring, 1/16 tsp edible pearl dust)
1.5 ounces lemonade  
2 oz. club soda (or enough to top the glass)
(optional: salt the rim of the glass with a mixture of salt and sugar)
Shake in a martini shaker and pour, or serve over ice. Garnish with a lemon wedge.

Juan Catkins (non-alcoholic version)

1 ounce catsap (sour green apple juice or syrup, 1/16 tsp edible pearl dust)
2 ounces lemonade 
2 ounces club soda or lemon-lime soda

Serve over ice and with a garnish of lemon or lime and a maraschino cherry.

The cactus cats are making their way through the factory! Each one will have a sewn-in  label, and a hang-tag. Here's what we anticipate they will look like!

The retractable shot glasses have arrived, as have the mason jars, for those of you who ordered the emergency or cocktail cats!

Also, the cactus cat clippings are being shipped right now, and will arrive later this week. Thanks to the amazing Jennifer Klettke for sewing all those kitteh babies.
