Just a quick heads-up that the final 20 packages are being prickled and processed this week and will mail out no later than Friday!

Whew! Thanks for your patience and we would love to hear some of your Cactus Cat names in the Comments! So far I've heard Peyote, Sedona, Spiny, and Bob.

All best,

More Cats in the Mail!
about 6 years ago – Thu, Mar 01, 2018 at 09:56:29 PM

I saw a few tweets, status updates, and adorable photos of people loving up their kittehs online, so it appears that the previous batch is arriving at their forever homes! Hope your cats are keeping you company and not getting into too much mischief.

We just sent out another 70 cats today, and a lot are to international destinations. The prickling and packaging continues and, barring anything too odd, we should have all the remainder in the mail in the next 5-7 days. The postal carrier at our nearby office is quite used to us now, and simply sighs and says "Just leave them on the counter." They'll be quite happy to see us, kitty-laden, again in the morning.

Thanks for your patience with the manufacturing delays and the time needed to custom prickle your kitty. As a thank you for being a backer, we are offering a free enamel pin (yes, there is a cactus cat pin!) of your choice if you back our current Cryptid Cutie enamel pin Kickstarter (which runs through March 8.) Adopting a minimum of one cutie will get you a free pin of your choice -- only to previous backers. You can check it out here. The chupacabra hatchling is quite close to being unlocked!

After a day of prickling and packaging, Prickles and I are enjoying a bit of catsap, then onward to more fulfillment in the morning. May your cats keep you company and keep their spines to themselves!

Catsap Cocktail Book Now Published!
about 6 years ago – Tue, Feb 20, 2018 at 11:03:30 AM

Hello, awesome backers!

Custom prickling and shipping continues on the cats. Ben and I will be out of town at a convention February 21-25, so shipping will halt for a few days, then we will pick it up and finish everything the following week. Many of you should get your cats in the USPS in the next few days. We've finished the bulk of them!

Backers at the Cocktail Cat and Ultimate Cat level should also have emails now from BackerKit for links to the Web and Print versions of the full Catsap Cocktail Book. This ended up *much bigger than we originally planned. We said "booklet" in the reward, and we thought we would have about a dozen recipes. Instead, it's a full-length recipe book, 54 pages with 50 unique recipes, plus some fun ideas in the Appendix. It features brand new illustrations of Cactus Cats by Amber Robyn and Ffion Evans.

If you didn't back at one of those levels, you can still get your copy of the Catsap Cocktail Book for the Backer Discount of $8! We will be retailing the book on Amazon for $10. There are alcoholic and non-alcoholic versions of recipes.

First Batch of Prickled Cats Shipped!
about 6 years ago – Sun, Feb 18, 2018 at 10:28:30 PM

Approximately 60 more cats have shipped to backers! If you ordered a single cactus cat without any add-ons, your orders were processed first and are on their way. More will continue to ship every day.

Thanks for your patience after the production delay due to fabric problems, as well as 10 weeks for shipping from China. The cats are snuggly and cuddly, and ready to explore their forever homes.

Don't forget to download the adoption certificate from Backerkit (https://cactus-cat-plushie.backerkit.com).

Until next time,

Maury and Ben

THEY ARE HERE! Cactus Cats Invade Virginia
about 6 years ago – Thu, Feb 01, 2018 at 11:45:08 PM

After a long boat ride from China, the cacophony of Cactus Cats made their way to San Francisco, where they awaited being taken off the ship and logged and processed by the plushie company. They shared their ride with owls and bears and ... gasp ... dogs  ... who were far too interested in these sweet-smelling felines. They survived their move to a new container, where they traveled by rail across the United States, then were further separated from other travel companions and placed on a truck. That truck, driven by a wonderful and friendly FedEx driver named Paul showed up this afternoon!

The cats are literally bursting to get out of their boxes!

The Cactus Cat Invasion Begins
The Cactus Cat Invasion Begins

 That's 17 boxes, each about 3 ft x 4 ft.

What next?

We will now begin the process of hand-prickling the kitties for those who requested them. We anticipate this process will take about two weeks. We will try to send out kitties in batches as we finish prickling them. The catlets/clippings are here and packaged, and so are the colors, retractable glasses, compendiums, flowers, and other extras. Once we get them prickled, they will be going out to you.

All cats will be sent out over the next 4 weeks and you'll have a tracking number that you can see by logging in to the BackerKit: https://cactus-cat-plushie.backerkit.com/

Thank you for your patience as the cats clawed their way across the world. We are excited to finish shipping these Cuties out to you!
